Using cloud storage

Cloud storage is a folder on the internet that you can access from any device. You can open / save files to this folder just like any other. Saving a file using one device will automatically sync it to your other devices (e.g. save a file from a Windows PC and then open it on an iPad).

You can also make certain files / folders available to other people (on a read-only basis or with full editing control). These will then appear in their cloud storage for easy access.

Sign up to a provider

If you don’t already have a cloud storage account, you can sign up to a free provider:

Set up your iPad

First, install the cloud provider's app:

  1. Launch the App Store.
  2. At the bottom, tap Search, and then search for the cloud app by name.
  3. Find the correct app and tap Get (or the cloud icon if downloaded before).
  4. Once downloaded, launch the new app and sign into your cloud storage account.

Next, link the cloud app to the Apple Files app:

  1. Launch the Apple Files app.
  2. Tap Browse at the bottom (if visible).
  3. At the top of the left sidebar, tap (...) or Edit and choose Edit Sidebar.
  4. Under Locations, enable the cloud app and tap Done.

You can now access your cloud storage whenever you're opening / saving files.

Save to cloud

To save the current Document to cloud storage:

  1. Tap  writer-app-w32h28  and choose Send As.
  2. Choose a file type:
    • Clicker Document - compatible with our software.
    • Microsoft Word Document - compatible with Microsoft Word and most other writing tools.
    • Text File - simple plain text without formatting or pictures.
    • PDF - a "digital printout" that can be viewed on most devices.
  3. In the iPad sharing popover, choose Save to Files.
  4. Select your cloud app (or a folder within it) and tap Save.

To save a Clicker Set:

  1. Tap  writer-newCS-w37h26  and choose Send As.
  2. In the iPad sharing popover, choose Save to Files.
  3. Select your cloud app (or a folder within it) and tap Save.

To save the current Book to cloud storage:

  1. If the top toolbar is hidden, tap  books-top-w44h14  to show it.
  2. Tap  books-menu-w32h30  and choose  Send As.
  3. Choose a file type:
    • Clicker Set - compatible with our software.
    • PDF - a "digital printout" that can be viewed on most devices.
  4. In the iPad sharing popover, choose Save to Files.
  5. Select your cloud app (or a folder within it) and tap Save.

To save the current Talk set to cloud storage:

  1. If the top toolbar is hidden, tap  talk-top-w44h14  to show it.
  2. Tap  books-menu-w32h30  and choose Send As.
  3. In the iPad sharing popover, choose Save to Files.
  4. Select your cloud app (or a folder within it) and tap Save.

Open from cloud

To open a Document / Clicker Set from cloud storage:

  1. In Clicker Writer, tap  writer-explorer-w32h29  and choose My Files.
  2. In the top-left corner, tap  <  until you see the sidebar.
  3. Select your cloud app.
  4. Browse to your file and tap it.

To open a Book from cloud storage:

  1. In Clicker Books, tap  books-explorer-w32h29  and choose My Files.
  2. In the top-left corner, tap  <  until you see the sidebar.
  3. Select your cloud app.
  4. Browse to your file and tap it.

To open a Talk set from cloud storage:

  1. In Clicker Talk, tap  talk-explorer-w32h29  and choose My Files.
  2. In the top-left corner, tap  <  until you see the sidebar.
  3. Select your cloud app.
  4. Browse to your file and tap it.
