Designed for children
We've used our 20+ years of experience in developing special needs software to create an app that provides a uniquely child-friendly environment.
Child-friendly font
Research shows that the Sassoon font is significantly easier for children to read. That's why it's included in all our apps. The long ascenders and descenders make words easier to recognize quickly - an important factor when your communication depends on it!
Text above symbols
AAC is an important pathway to literacy instruction, so it's important to reinforce word recognition at every point. Positioning the text above the symbols means that learners still see the text while they tap the symbol (of course, there's an option to have the text below if you prefer!).
Speak with a child’s voice
Clicker Communicator enables children to express themselves using voices that are friendly, age-appropriate, and realistic. There's also a wide range of adult voices available for free download, giving you the flexibility to choose the most suitable voice for your learner. There's even a pronunciation tool so that you can ensure that children's names and unusual words are pronounced exactly how you want, every time!
Ensure the sound on your computer is working and then click a button to hear for yourself.
Child-friendly keyboard
The Clicker Communicator keyboard has been specifically designed for children, with a simplified layout and a child-friendly, lower case font. The word predictor is incredibly context-sensitive and automatically shows a symbol with each suggestion.
