Short story writing challenge

January 30, 2019

Next time you give your students a short story-writing challenge, don’t forget to look at LearningGrids for resources to help get you started. Whether it’s superheroes, a spooky story, pirates, or even a more traditional story, you can trust Clicker to motivate and support your students.

Here’s a superhero story idea you might want to try – or use it as an inspiration for other ideas. Start by getting your students to organize what they want to happen in a Storyboard planner - they can add pictures, quick notes, and even recordings.

Students can then use a mind map to gather a bank of fantastic superhero language and “wow words.” Once their ideas are down on the Clicker Board, simply right-click on the grid background to create a word bank, or use the ready-made Superhero Words.

Now your students are ready to create a mind-blowing, out-of-this-world superhero story! Of course, you can use the same activity templates for any other story ideas too. Let’s get writing!
