COVID relief funding and Crick Software

December 1, 2021

I have been talking to lots of school district administrators over the last few months about the impact the pandemic has had on the students they support. Many of them are still struggling to catch up after so much time at home, with teachers doing their best to address learning loss.

As schools continue to see more diverse learning needs in the same classrooms, providing resources that are customizable in their delivery and accessible for all students is essential. Clicker is the perfect support tool to support all students in lesson and topic delivery, as well as address the everchanging needs presented by any unforeseen circumstances.

Fortunately, this year substantial federal funds are available for education organizations across the country.

CARES Act

CARES Act funding can be used to purchase educational technology (including hardware, software, and connectivity) for students who are served by the LEA that aids in regular and substantive educational interaction between students and their classroom instructors, including low-income students and students with disabilities, which may include assistive technology or adaptive equipment.

These funds may be used to reimburse eligible expenses incurred between March 13, 2020 and September 30, 2022.

The CRRSA Act (CARES II)

This funding is to be used to lessen the impact of the pandemic on learning with investments in solutions to address learning loss as well as purchasing educational technology that aids in the regular and substantive educational interaction between students and their classrooms instructors.

These funds are available for obligation by SEAs and subrecipients through September 30, 2022 and may be used to reimburse eligible expenses incurred between March 13, 2020 and September 30, 2023.

ARP Act

ARP funding is to be used to purchase educational technology (including hardware, software, connectivity, assistive technology, and adaptive equipment) for students that aids in regular and substantive educational interaction between students and their classroom instructors, including students from low-income families and children with disabilities.

This funding is available for obligation by SEAs and subrecipients through September 30, 2023 and may be used to reimburse eligible expenses incurred between March 13, 2020 and September 30, 2024.

Through the passing of these bills, funding is available through the next three years for the adoption and implementation of new technologies.

We have put together this document to explain how our software can be used to bridge the learning gap, support student recovery, and help schools be “remote learning ready”.
