The last twelve months have been difficult for everyone but especially so for children, whose routines have been significantly disrupted and opportunities to meet with friends and family are much more limited.
As children return to in-classroom teaching, many schools are focusing on their emotional wellbeing. This includes encouraging students to reflect on their experiences during the pandemic and express their feelings about how their lives have been affected.
We have recently published a collection of fantastically illustrated “Life in the Pandemic” Clicker resources that are designed to enable children to do just that.
Children start with the Clicker Book, which explores the various aspects of life that have changed since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Each page looks at a different aspect of life that has been affected – for example having to learn from home – and encourages the reader to think about how it made them feel.
Children can then express their experiences and feelings about the COVID-19 pandemic in the connected speaking and writing activities.
Be sure to visit LearningGrids for all the “Life in the Pandemic” resources and lots of other sets about staying healthy.
