Error: DocsPlus Installer "can't be opened" on Mac
When running the DocsPlus Installer, you receive this error message:
<filename> can't be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software.
Resolution
Apple now requires apps to be "notarized" (submitted to them for in-depth scrutiny and approval). If you run an unnotarized app, macOS blocks it and shows the above error message instead.
Fortunately, there is a workaround:
- Click OK to close the error message.
- Right-click the file named DocsPlus Installer and choose Open.
- At the security prompt, click Open.
- Click Install DocsPlus on this computer.
- At the security prompt, click OK.
- Open your Mac's System Preferences and click Security & Privacy.
- Click Open Anyway.
- At the security prompt, click Open.
A newer version of DocsPlus is included with our universal subscription, which is fully notarized in accordance with Apple's latest requirements.
